Traffic congestion and air pollution is a growing problem here in Western North Carolina. A solution to help us get out of this problem is transportation demand management (TDM).

Instead of building new highways, we can limit the need by moving more people in fewer vehicles.

Ways this can be done is by the promotion of alternatives such as transit, carpooling, vanpooling, bicycling, walking, telecommuting and alternative work schedules.
