ASHEVILLE TRANSIT DETOUR for 9/11/10 Print E-mail

Asheville Transit will detour due to two road closures;  1) South Pack Square for the Organicfest; and 2) College St. at intersection of Lexington Ave. for maintenance by Metropolitan Sewer District.  This will occur on September 11, 2010 from 7:00am- 1:30am and affect Routes #2, #4, #5, #13, #26, #28, #29 and #52.   

  • From 7:00 am -7:00 pm Routes #5, #13, #26, #28, and #29 outbound will change their routing.  Inbound routing will not change. 
    • The above bus routes will turn north on Broadway, then east on Woodfin St., and then return to their standard route at the traffic circle on College St.
    • Riders should catch these routes downtown at the following bus-stops:
      • Prichard Park.
      • North Pack Square at College St.
      • College St. at Charlotte St.
    • The following bus-stops will be CLOSED:
      •  South Pack Square at Market St.
      • College St. at Court Plaza
  • From 7:00 pm - 1:00 am Routes #28, # 29 and #52 outbound will change their routing.  Inbound, the routing will not change. 
    • The above bus routes will leave the Transit Center taking Aston St. to Biltmore Avenue.   
    • Route #52 will then continue its normal scheduled route, North on Merrimon Ave. 
    • Route #28, 9:53 pm trip & five Route #29 trips will then follow the earlier closure by using Broadway to Woodfin St. to College St.
    • Riders should catch these routes downtown at the following bus-stops:
      • Transit Center;
      • North Pack Square at College St.
      • St. at Charlotte St.
    • The following bus-stops will be CLOSED:
      • South Pack Square at Market St.
      • College St. at Court Plaza
